“The reason I got into the Resurrection research was to help me. And later it developed into something that somebody else could use. But, it started because of my long-lasting doubts, bookended by the deaths of the two most central people in my life. And it put me into this 20-years tizzy. And the Resurrection got me out of my doubt."

A leading Christian Apologist specializing in Jesus’ Resurrection
and the Shroud of Turin research

Dr. Gary Habermas is a Distinguished Research Professor of Apologetics and Philosophy at Liberty University. He earned his PhD from Michigan State University and has dedicated his professional life to the examination of the relevant historical, philosophical, and theological issues surrounding the death and resurrection of Jesus. He is author or editor of over 50 books and over 200 journal articles and book chapters. Gary's written on a wide array of apologetic issues, but his primary focus has been the evidence for the resurrection of Jesus Christ. In fact, Gary is far and away the leading expert on that issue today, especially with the recent publication of his multi-volume magnum opus on the topic titled On The Resurrection. This is without question the new standard in the field and a fitting culmination of his prolific work on the topic throughout his career. Gary regularly debates skeptics on the issue and you can find links to these on his website.

In recent years, he has been a visiting or adjunct professor at over 15 different graduate schools and seminaries in the United States and abroad.

Dr. Habermas is a Distinguished Research Professor of Apologetics and Philosophy. He is married to Eileen and they have seven children and 11 grandchildren.
